An annual celebration of sporting achievements, physical activity and community activation is set to return to Ewood Park.
The Active Lancashire Awards is returning to celebrate on Friday, November 17, and is looking for event sponsors to help make the awards possible.
The event celebrates local clubs, individuals and schools who champion physical activity and its benefits to health, social inclusion and community integration.
Running for more than 20 years, the awards regularly garner immense support from local businesses who want to demonstrate their commitment to a healthier Lancashire.
The event was attended by more than 300 people and also broadcast online again after the event.
As it provides subsidized tickets to guests, the event can only be taken place with the support of sponsors.
Chief executive of Active Lancashire, Adrian Leather, said: “The Active Lancashire Awards serve as a powerful catalyst for positive change.
“By recognizing and celebrating the achievements of individuals and groups who have embraced physical activity, Active Lancashire and our event sponsors inspire others to follow suit.
“The benefits of an active lifestyle are far-reaching, enhancing both physical and mental wellbeing, and strengthening our communities.”
“It’s not just the 300 event attendees who left inspired – last year we estimate our awards reached tens of thousands of local people, with the event creating a huge buzz and high online engagement.
“We would love to hear from any potential sponsors who want to help us continue to reach people and encourage movement and activity across the county.”
Sponsorship packages provide significant benefits, including the chance to present awards directly to winners and appear in their official photos as well as coverage in the event programme, on screens around the event and in news releases.
Sponsor logos also appear on trophies as well as on finalist certificates for all nominated guests.
Representatives from sponsors also take part in a published panel to help choose winners for each category.
For the first time, a portion of each sponsorship category will be awarded as prize money to the winner to support them with their chosen activity, further exemplifying the sponsors’ dedication to active communities in Lancashire.
Categories this year include Coach, Volunteer and Club of the Year. Awards will also be given to clubs or individuals who make a big difference to their local communities or who support the mental wellbeing of others through activity.
There are also categories that aim to celebrate schools that go to great lengths to improve the health and fitness of their pupils.
Nominations for the event are largely made through local events such as the Active Burnley Awards, Blackpool Active Lives Community Awards, Preston Sports Awards and Blackburn with Darwen Sports Council Awards, with their winners automatically being shortlisted for the regional event.
However, the Active Lancashire Awards will also launch a direct nomination form for some districts on their website this summer.
Anyone with an interest in sponsoring the event can download a brochure from the Active Lancashire Awards website.
